Our Salmon River rafting trips are 4 and 5 days long, and start running from July 8th throughout the summer and early fall. This Idaho river trip provides the opportunity for you to get out in the backcountry for a few nights and enjoy many different outdoor activities, including the white water! Class III and IV whitewater rapids like Lorna’s Lulu, Half N Half, and Snowhole are spaced perfectly throughout the trip to add just the right amount of excitement between the relaxing stretches of calm water and amazing scenery.
Eddie-out each night to camp on beautiful white sandy beaches. For this all-inclusive Salmon River rafting trip, North Star not only provides everything you need, but also takes care of all the details so that you can just enjoy your time on the river. Our gear boat rows ahead of the group and sets camp each day so that your tents are waiting for you when we pull in for the night. Our guides are expert in all aspects of these Salmon River trips. They are great on the oars and chefs in disguise. You will dine riverside on an array of freshly prepared gourmet meals featuring Dutch oven cooking, fresh baked breads, desserts, and grilled meats.
These Salmon River trips are perfect for groups looking to charter a date. Our launch schedule is more flexible and group discounts are available. It is the perfect family rafting trip for those with small kids. The beaches provide nonstop fun for time in camp and the large numbers of smaller rapids keep kids begging for more. We run a combination of oar boats, paddles rafts, and inflatable kayaks, which give you the opportunity to paddle as much as you wish or just ride along.
The Salmon River sports 900 miles of the longest free-flowing river in the lower 48 states and passes through thousands of square miles of wilderness area, national forest, and state protected public lands. North Star river trips run the final section of the Salmon River known as the Lower Main Salmon. We put-in at Hammer Creek and float 54 miles to the confluence of the Snake and Salmon in Hells Canyon and then downriver on the Snake to the only take-out at Hellar Bar in WA state, just 45 minutes from Lewiston, ID.
Our base of operation is in McCall, Idaho, a small scenic, alpine town set beside beautiful blue Payette Lake, 100 miles north of Boise, which is the nearest major airport. Meet us in McCall and be returned to McCall after the 3 and 4 Day Trip. See our Trip Logistics page for more details.
